ASSASSINATION, INTRIGUE, AND POWER STRUGGLES

A prominent Russian pro-war blogger is killed in a bombing at a St. Petersburg café. An anti-war activist is arrested as the authorities in Moscow allege a broad and improbable conspiracy involving the Ukrainian intelligence services and imprisoned Russian opposition leader Aleksei Navalny.

So what is going on? A successful operation against a high-profile pro-Kremlin propagandist? An internal power struggle within Russia’s party of war? Or a carefully crafted false flag operation?

On the Power Vertical Podcast this week, host Brian Whitmore speaks with prominent journalists Konstantin Eggert and Mikhail Zygar about this high-profile assassination and its implications. The podcast also examines the first time an American journalist was arrested and accused of espionage since 1986.
