Russia’s war against Ukraine is many things: it’s a war of choice, it’s an illegal war of aggression, and it’s a colonial war.
But it is also a war of narratives, a battle over history, and an effort by the Kremlin and its surrogates to propagate myths that, to put it politely, have little or no relationship to the truth.
On The Power Vertical Podcast this week, host Brian Whitmore speaks with Casey Michel, author of an important new report: Narrating the War: How have Kremlin narratives shaped Russia’s invasion of Ukraine? The report is part of the Atlantic Council Eurasia Center’s series Russia Tomorrow: Navigating a New Paradigm and was released this week.
