THE CHINA FACTOR

If you had to identify one factor that has kept Russia’s economy and war machine afloat since February 2022 in the face of massive Western sanctions, that factor would be Moscow’s so-called “no limits” partnership with China.

Beijing has been the top purchaser of Russian hydrocarbons. China has also provided Russia substantial economic, military, and technological assistance, effectively enabling and helping arm Moscow’s war machine.
