
Since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, few countries have done more to assist Moscow than Iran. From Shahid drones to ballistic missiles to artillery shells, Tehran has been a key supplier of Vladimir Putin’s war machine.
But when Iran came under attack from Israel and later the United States, the near silence out of Moscow was deafening — despite the fact that Iran and Russia signed a strategic partnership agreement just months ago.
So did Putin’s axis of rogues just shrink? And if so, what does it mean going forward?
